A/Prof. Judith Greer PhD

Judith Greer did her PhD in tumour immunology, but then changed the focus of her research to undertake a post-doctoral position at Harvard with Prof Marjorie Lees, looking at some of the basis neurochemical and immunological properties of myelin proteolipid protein. She returned to the University of Queensland in Brisbane to establish a group looking at autoimmune reactivity in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), and has now been working in this area for over 20 years. The majority of her work still focuses on MS, but her group also works on the role of immune responses following stroke, and the role of autoantibodies against neurotransmitters in psychosis. She is one of the co-founders of Neuroimmunology Australia, and is co-chair of the ISNI2018 congress.
