Rana Karabudak has been a professor at the University of Hacettepe, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara Turkey since 1999.
She works in the Department of Neurology. She has founded and has been directing the Neuroimmunology Unit-and Clinical MS Center. In 1991-1992 she had her fellowship in MS and clinical neuroimmunology at the Reed Neurological Institute – MS Clinics at the UCLA – and studied immunology laboratory experience with Dr. Anthony Reder at the University of Chicago in 2003.
Her clinical and scientific interests are in the field of clinical neuroimmunology, mainly immunological aspects of Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis and neuroradiology of MS.
As a primary investigator she has participated a number of International Multi-Center drug trials in MS.
She is one of the founders and board member of the European School of Neurology (ESNI) and the founder of Turkish Neuroimmunology School since 1998.She is the Turkish delegate to European Academy of Neurology ( ENA), a member of the American Academy of Neurology ( AAN ), and International Society of Neuroimmunology ( ISNI).
She serves on the Advisory Board of Turkish MS Societies and the Editorial Board of the Turkish Neurological Society Journal.
She authored and co-authored 80 peer-reviewed articles and authored and co-authored and edited over 200 articles, books and book chapters in English & Turkish.
