BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Rosa Chiara Paolicelli PhD
Department of Biomedical Sciences
University of Lausanne
Lausanne, Switzerland
Rosa C. Paolicelli earned a Bachelor of Medical Biotechnology at the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2006
and a MSc in Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Bristol, UK, in 2007.
She graduated in 2011 with a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). She then moved to the University of Zurich, Switzerland, to the Institute of Regenerative Medicine for her postdoctoral studies.
Since September 2018, Rosa is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where she leads the Microglia Biology Lab.
Her research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating microglial function in physiological and pathological contexts. Her lab develops mouse models for dysfunctional microglia, to better understand their contribution to brain development as well as to neurodegeneration.
